Black lemon, dried lime, lomi, nomi basra, or lomi sahari is a type of spice used in Middle Eastern cuisine, especially in Iranian and Iraqi cuisine. It is prepared by boiling fresh limes in salted water, then drying them in the sun, until their insides turn black, while the outside turns from yellow or green to black. It is sold in markets as whole or ground limes.
